Punjab Examination Commission is the mandatory authority to conduct the annual exams at the primary and middle classes. PEC starts registration process of the candidates of classes 5 & 8 four or five months before the start of the annual exams. PEC grade V & VIII admissions are started for the students in the government schools, so that the candidates can get admission and prepare for their 5^th and 8^th classes annual exams.

PEC primary and middle classes annual exams are conducted at the end of the academic year and the students can appear in the annual exams of PEC class 5 / PEC class 8, which is conducted in the first week of February.
